There is a beer bottle fridge.

You don’t know a lot about choosing a beer fridge until you actually want one.

I wanted to find out what mattered most when choosing a mini-fridge to keep my beer cold. I want to save you some time by sharing some of the things I have learned and the things I found to be a big factor when choosing the best one.

If I missed something that you think is important, leave a comment and I will add your insights to the page.

Don’t forget that not all your guests drink beer, so check out our guide on the best maracas.

Temperature Control

Depending on what kind of beer you like, how cold you like it, and whether you plan on using the fridge for anything other than beer can all change the temperature in the fridge. Keep in mind that different kinds of beers have different ideal temperatures, even if you are only using it for beer.

It’s necessary to have a temperature control. If you want to confirm the temperature, you should pick up a thermometer. The small fridges’ thermostats are often unreliable. It is always good to have a backup.

The temperature of your beer is the most important thing.

Storage Capacity

Storage capacity is the most important characteristic to consider when shopping for a fridge that can easily store beer bottles.

There is more than just the size of the bottle. It’s important to make sure the shelves are tall enough to hold the bottles upright.

You don’t want the bottles to fall. You can’t fit that many in that way. If it is your home, a shaken beer bottle is not helpful. The choices below have enough height on the shelves to allow you to stand up the bottles.

Versatility/Movable Shelves

Have you ever tried to fit a big bottle into a mini-fridge?

It can be hard if the shelves are not moving.

You will need to use the fridge for something other than beer bottles in the future. You can find a beer that has larger bottles than normal. Versatility is important

Appearance

The man cave beer fridge needs to look good if you are hosting a party.

The looks matter more than the most important factor in mini-fridge selection. The glass door on beer and wine fridges is something I like. They let you see what is in there before you open the door, so you can grab your selection without leaving the door open.

There are a lot of non-glass mini-fridges. I will try to explain the pros and cons of each option in the reviews.

Best Overall

Danby DBC120BLS Mini Beverage Center

It has all the features I was looking for, it has a great capacity, it’s versatile, and it looks great.

Danby got all the small things right with the fridge. The wires are closer together than other wires. If you want to keep beer bottles here, you need that. If you lay them down, it will be easier to have them lay close to each other so they don’t shift when you take one from a row.

The blue light is cool. If you have a fridge behind your home bar or in the party room, it’s a good idea to light it up so everyone knows where the drinks are.

The ability to lock the door is something that I never cared for. If you have children at home, a lock can be useful. I think a determined teenager can break the lock if they really wanted to, but at least you would know they were inside. If you have expensive bottles that you want to keep chilled but don’t want anyone to grab them, this might be useful.

You can change how the door opens while we are talking. Most mini-fridges open to the left. You can open from the other side. If you ever tried to make a mini-fridge into a bar, you know that the ability to switch the way the door opens can be a lifesaver.

Temperature Control

The fridge has a mechanical thermostat that can be programmed from anywhere. This is all the drinks I need. The purpose of the freezer section is not ice. Adding a freezer section makes the temperature in some parts of the fridge cooler than others. The beer has ice chips in it. I can tell from the temperature on the thermometer that it is fairly constant.

Some buyers have reported that the thermostat adjustment knob is not perfect. The fridge wouldn’t get cold enough even with the knob on the lowest setting. It’s possible to return a mini-fridge to get one that is better. If you are more of a do-it-yourself person, then you should not have to return it.

There is a thermostat on the back of the unit. The dial should be set to the middle. The cover of the thermostat should be removed. The control module has a small phillps head screw on the left side. Take it for a while and check the temperature. It’s a good idea to adjust around 45 Fahrenheit or 7 Celsius.

Features

  • 3.3 cu. ft.(120 Can) capacity
  • There is a temperature range of 6C to 14C.
  • The mechanical thermostat is easy to use.
  • The tight knit shelf wires keep drinks upright.
  • The door frame is smudge resistant.
  • Tempered glass door with stainless steel trim
  • Recessed side mount door handle
  • Integrated lock with key
  • The blue light illuminates the inside.
  • A pocket door swing and a door handle.

You came here because you wanted a fridge that held bottles. It depends on how you want the shelves to be placed. That is the best thing about this fridge. You can change the shelves.

The bottles are standing up. I was able to fit 25 bottles on the shelf. If they weren’t worried about getting too close to the front end. If I made all the shelves high enough, I could fit 75 bottles on them. Someone else is more creative than I am and can come up with a way to fit more. Let us know in the comments that there are better ways than my.

Durability

The fridge is very sturdy. The door and trim are made of glass. It will last a long time.

Best Value

Igloo 3.2-Cu.-Ft. Platinum Fridge

It is a good fridge for a good price. It is not a dedicated beverage fridge. If you’re looking for a good quality fridge for a college dorm or as a second fridge in a room in your home, this is probably better than the Danby.

If you came to this page, you need a fridge to hold bottles of beer and other drinks. This is an all purpose fridge. You might want to store ice cubes, cans, and even food in the same place. This is a good choice. If your bar has one fridge, then this is more useful than the Danby. The Danby is the better choice if you want a fridge that holds beer bottles and cans.

Features

3.2 cu. ft. capacity

  • Adjustable Temperature (1-10 scale…not actual temperature setting)
  • Fridge & Freezer
  • Clear Crisper
  • Reversible Door
  • Adjustable Thermostat
  • Slide-out Glass Shelves
  • Invisible Door Handle
  • Platinum Finish

The capacity can be misleading if you want it to. This fridge has a freezer. The drawer at the bottom of the crisper is where you can put beer in. I don’t like to have a freezer if I only use the fridge for drink storage. The top temperature tends to be colder than the bottom.

There is a can on the door. If you grab a few in a row, be sure to let the can sit for a minute.

Durability

The fridge is built to last. I did not choose this one for my home bar, but after reading many of the reviews online, I could not find any instances of the fridge failing. Most of the complaints were related to user error or problems with the delivery service, but I wouldn’t blame Igloo when the box falls off the truck or something.
